Support and resources for personalized pathways and success
Professional academic advisors in the College of Engineering Undergraduate Academic Advising Office are available to provide information on support and referral resources for all student issues and concerns.
Designed to provide new students with tools they need to succeed at Northeastern, the First Year Engineering program exposes students to all engineering majors and includes a common first year curriculum, special seminars, and social activities as well as one-on-one mentoring with advisors.
A wide variety of academic tutoring services are available to undergraduate engineering students taking courses across engineering departments. Free, drop-in tutoring is also available for first-year engineering students in physics, calculus, chemistry, and general engineering courses.
The university and college offer multiple honors programs for students to demonstrate their educational excellence and enhance their college experience.
With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the college has several programs to welcome, support, and create opportunity for all talented students from all around the world and with a variety of backgrounds.
With a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem and innovative programs that combine engineering and business education, students are bringing their innovations to market and developing as leaders.
With a focus on developing multifaceted engineers, we push beyond interdisciplinary programs, adding also combined majors, and offering over 70 minors in engineering and from across seven colleges at the university. Accelerated master’s programs are also available.

The Family Blueprint: Three Siblings’ Journeys with Mechanical Engineering
Carly, E’18, Kevin, E’21, and Kayla Parlato, E’26, have all graduated from Northeastern with mechanical engineering degrees. Inspired by their engineering father, they were all drawn to the same discipline, yet carved their own paths using the opportunities and resources Northeastern provided.
Paying It Forward: Four Northeastern Engineers on Service, Purpose, and Giving Back
Four Northeastern engineering students — Clare Chi, Hebat Elkacemi, Jimmy Cheung, and Mia Filardi—were selected this year as Patrick P. Lee Scholarship recipients, chosen not for accolades alone but for their commitment to bringing others along with them. From teaching robotics to Boston schoolchildren to leading civic engagement programs and organizing voter registration drives, each has found a distinct way to turn their education outward. Their stories reflect a simple but demanding idea: that what you receive, you owe to others.

Student Engineering Group Creates Affordable Wheelchair and Construction Manual for Capstone Project
One engineering Capstone group created a low-cost wheelchair out of wood and bicycle parts, also creating a step-by-step manual of the construction, making this wheelchair a more accessible solution to others who cannot afford a traditional wheelchair.
