2026 Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Recipients
Tristan Bernard, E’27, mechanical engineering, and Ian Rocha, E’25, chemical engineering, are recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, which enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity.

ChE Student Receives 2026 Condit Award
Grace Autumn Jansen, E’28, chemical engineering, won the Sears B. Condit Award, which is awarded annually to one student from each of Northeastern’s undergraduate day colleges and is one of the highest honors that a junior or senior at Northeastern University can receive.

2026 Fulbright Scholarship Semi-finalists
Juliana Castro, E’26, industrial engineering, Lucas McCauley, E’26, bioengineering and biochemistry, and Sasha Pavlov, E’26, civil engineering and architecture, are semi-finalists for the 2026 Fulbright Scholarship, which is awarded to exceptional students to research, study, or teach English abroad, in order to foster diplomacy and mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries.

Understanding Bacterial Swimming to Stop Infections in Catheters
New research from the Complex Fluids Lab, led by ChE Assistant Professor Sara Hashmi, investigates how elongated E. coli bacteria swim in flow through microchannels. Elongation can arise from antibiotic treatment that does not suffice to kill the bacteria.
